Mandatory Training for SIA Door Supervisor Licence Renewal
As of 1 April 2025, completing this course is a mandatory requirement to retain and renew your SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
To ensure compliance with these updated requirements, candidates must hold a valid Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) prior to commencing any security training.
This comprehensive 1.5-day Refresher Course is specifically designed to update existing licence holders on critical operational skills and knowledge needed in today’s security environment.
Course Duration
This course is delivered through a blended learning model, consisting of:
- 9-10 hours of e-learning (self-study)
- 1.5 days of in-person, classroom-based training
Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher)
- Conducting effective search procedures
- Safeguarding vulnerable individuals
- Managing terror threats and responding effectively to incidents
- Mitigating spiking risks and safeguarding the public
Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher)
- Understanding the legal and practical implications of physical interventions
- Identifying and minimizing risks associated with physical intervention
- Safely applying physical skills to protect oneself and others
- Proficiency in non-pain compliant standing, holding, and escorting techniques
