Security Guard Top-up

Course Overview:

Security officers often work in challenging or isolated environments. It’s thus important they have the right training to conduct the role effectively while ensuring the safety of themselves and the public. What’s more, they need to meet legal requirements established by bodies such as the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

The Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top-up) has been developed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

Principles of terror threat awareness

Minimising personal risk for security officers

Course Duration:

• The course typically spans over 2 hours, including both theoretical and practical training sessions.

Assessment and Certification:

• Candidates will be assessed through multiple-choice exams, practical demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises.
• Upon successful completion, participants will receive the SIA-approved Security Guard Top-Up qualification, enabling them to renew their SIA Security Guard license.
